The Commission on Aging offers an "Unmet Needs" emergency financial assistance program. To participate in this program, an individual's income must be at 200% of the poverty level or lower. Requests are honored for emergency situations and only after all possibilities for assistance have been exhausted. Requests are honored one time only per year per client for up to $1000. Any amount over $1000 is the responsibility of the client. Some requests over $500 will require 3 bids.
Financial Assistance is also available for Heating Bills, Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, BATA Passes and for Dental Programs. Please contact the LCCOA office for information on these assistance programs.
