The Planning Commission consists of seven members of the community. One member, by law, is a member of the Township Board. The other six are selected by the Township Board and serve three year terms. If you would like to be considered for appointment, direct a letter of interest to the Township Supervisor. Contact information may be found in the Directory section of the website.
The Commission meets each month. Meetings are generally held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Township Hall. Questions about the activities of the Commission may be directed to any Commissioner. See the Directory section of the website for members' names and contact information.

Michigan Zoning Enabling Act
In the Summer of 2010, the Commission has completed a two-year effort to update the Zoning Ordinance and Maps. The effort was designed to:
- elimnate obsolete provisions,
- clarify current provisions,
- update it to conform with new state laws, and
- correct typographical errors.
Results of the efforts may be found in the Zoning Ordinance (this document does not include the amendments described in the following paragraph).
In July 2011, in a constant effort to upgrade and clarify the Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Commission completed a series of amendments; these amendments can be found here.
The amendments are shown with both former and current text for clarity. These amendments are effective July 28, 2011.
The duties of the Commission include drafting and updating the Township Master Plan, and drafting, ujpdating, and administering the Township Zoning Ordinance.
