Referrals are made to Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency for those homebound seniors who are unable to prepare food for themselves, (Meals on Wheels).

Leelanau Senior Dining is a service of the Leelanau County Commission on Aging, funded with millage dollars. The program is designed to give Leelanau County senior citizens, (60 years of age or older) more choices for their nutrition by utilizing the services in local restaurants.

There is a $3.00 cost per voucher and each voucher is good for a maximum of $6.00. Any amount above the $6.00 will be the responsibility of the customer. Alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity are not included. These vouchers are good for 30 days from the date of issuance.

Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a program that supplies surplus food to qualified individuals.  Surplus items can be picked up between 12-1 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department located at the Connie Binsfeld Resource Center in Lake Leelanau.  TEFAP is an additonal supplemental food program during the months of March, June and November, given out at the same time and location.   Please call  231-947-3780 or 1-800-632-7334 to register.
